Last mile

The last mile is one of the biggest logistics challenges. The growing ‘on demand’ economy collides with the rapidly changing society and environment. There is a strong need to find solutions for these last mile complexities, with a focus on better use of space, the development of new management models and operational excellence. New forms of value creation can also provide sustainable last mile solutions.

The ambition is to integrate last mile logistics in Flanders in the most sustainable and economic way into the entire supply chains.

Omni Tactics

Companies who want to evolve from single-/multichannel to omnichannel retailers are facing major challenges. A retailer must determine through which channels and which delivery options he prefers to offer his products to his customers. This abundance of options gives a chance for a higher service and turnover, but also impacts the costs. With its project ‘Omni Tactics’ VIL aims to support companies, especially SME’s, to proactively determine the cost-to-serve of their omnichannel choices.
