Apply for the Lean and Green Star

Lean_and_Green_star_logoHas your company obtained the Lean and Green Award more than a year ago and has the 20% reduction target been achieved or even exceeded? Then you can apply for the Lean and Green Star.

How to apply for the star?

You can download the participation regulations for the Lean and Green Star HERE (in Dutch) and send the signed document back leanandgreen@vil.be.

Upon confirmation of receipt, you can start compiling your application file, which must include all relevant information and figures demonstrating that, relative to the reference year, you have achieved at least a 20% reduction in CO2 emissions. VIL will guide you in preparing this file and will assess it for completeness and likelihood of success.

The audit itself is conducted by the Mobi research group of VUB, which will have the opportunity to ask questions. A final audit report will be issued no later than 9 weeks after submission of the application file.

When to apply for the star?

Unlike the Lean and Green Award, there is no group approach for the star. You can submit your star application to VUB at any time (except during school holidays). The star is also awarded on an individual basis. Due to the (commercial) importance of a ceremonial presentation, companies that have received the star in the preceding period will be honored at a VIL event. However, the star may be used by the company from the moment of its awarding and not only from the ceremonial presentation, as is the case with the award.

Star formalities

The cost for a star audit, including guidance from VIL, is:

  • € 1,950 for VIL members (excluding 21% VAT)
  • € 2,800 for non-members (excluding 21% VAT)

If a retake is necessary, the cost will be 50% of the amounts mentioned above.
