HOW CAN I TELL IF A SERVICE PROVIDER HOLDS THE GATEWAY²BRITAIN QUALITY LABEL?

Service providers that have successfully completed the certification process are always listed on this Gateway²Britain web page. Label holders also have permission to use the Gateway²Britain quality label on their website and in their communications.


DOES VIL ALSO SCREEN SERVICES RELATED TO EXPORTS FROM THE UK AND IMPORTS TO FLANDERS?

No, screening is limited to exports to the UK from Flanders. However, most of the service providers that hold the label also offer services relating to exports of goods from the UK to Flanders. For more information, you can always consult the service providers’ websites.


CAN I USE THE SERVICE PROVIDERS FOR AN OCCASIONAL SHIPMENT TO THE UK OR FOR ONE OR MORE PALLETS?

Certainly. Service providers with the quality label have extensive experience in the transportation of small volumes to the UK. All service providers are capable of delivering your goods in the UK within the week.


DO ALL SERVICE PROVIDERS HAVE THE SAME RATES?

No, service providers set their own rates. A previous study by VIL shows that the rate structure is largely similar between service providers, and there are no significant differences in their rates. During the certification process VIL does, however, verify whether the quotes are adequately transparent and whether requests for quotes are mainly answered within two working days.


DOES THE LABEL GUARANTEE THE SERVICE PROVIDER’S SERVICES?

No, the label does not provide a guarantee. During the certification process, VIL will have used an on-site inspection to make a thorough evaluation of the quality of the services. If you are not satisfied with the services provided by a quality-label holder, you can always notify us of your complaint at gateway2britain@vil.be. The procedure to be followed can be found under article 11 of the certification regulations.
